5 Easy Detox Recipes For Weight Loss & Good Health

Detoxing for weight loss & health is something I regularly take apart in the fall and winter months since life tends to become a bit more sedentary. It’s a great way to clean out the liver, prevent colds, and improve general well-being. Detoxing for weight loss is much more than simply weight loss, but is great for keeping your body and health in check.

It’s these culminating affects in keeping your health up to par that really leads to weight loss. I like to think of it more as a “side-effect” than anything else. Apple cider vinegar for example, which is great to take before or after meals because of it’s ability to thoroughly digest your food is very good at suppressing hunger.

If you think about it, apple cider vinegar can almost be considered a rarity of sorts or a hidden secret if you will. People don’t generally say I’m going to drink myself a cup of ACV because of it’s very bitter to the taste. But being able to down a “shot” or two is amazing and has all sorts of health benefits.

I always make sure to keep a bottle of Bragg ACV (my favorite & the healthiest) around and use it almost daily. Apple cider vinegar can be used for more than just ingestion. While it isn’t the easiest drink or supplement to take down, it definitely becomes somewhat of an acquired taste.

That’s why I’ve created this post.. So that we can enjoy some amazingly health detox recipes & drinks that we can take part in these upcoming winter months. It should reduce our stress as well!


Detox Recipe #1:

  • 12 oz. glass of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons of ACV (preferably by Bragg)
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger
  • Quarter teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Detox Recipe #2 (simple alternative to 1st recipe):

  • 12 oz. glass of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons of ACV
  • 2 tablespoons of raw organic honey


Detox Recipe #3 (ACV with cranberry):

  • 12 oz. glass of water
  • 1/4 cup of cranberry juice
  • 2 tablespoons of ACV
  • 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey


Detox Recipe #4 (ACV with green tea):

  • 1 glass of green tea (caffeinated or decaf)
  • 2 tablespoons of ACV
  • 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey


Detox Recipe #5 (without ACV):

  • 16 oz. of water
  • 1/2 slice of cucumber
  • 5 strawberys (sliced)
  • 1 lemon (sliced)

Add fruits into 16 ounces of water and refrigerate over night.

I hope you enjoy these detox recipes and am sure you’ll be experiencing many positive affects, especially as you begin to incorporate acv into your regular diet. It’s important to take in moderation and as a means to maintain your health. The first detox recipe is really the bread and butter of this post and I highly recommend trying it out. For me, it’s a recipe that I definitely feel more energy and sense of well-being from.

Recipe #4 (with decaffeinated green tea) is especially great to take on at night or after a meal to help fuel your digestion and to feel some amazing relaxation. That’s one thing I’ve come to really notice about ACV. Whenever I drink it I feel a warmth come over my body and a lot less stressful than I would be otherwise.

Recipe #3 is especially good to help fuel your weight loss efforts. The combination of cranberry juice and ACV is almost like putting your digestion into overdrive and is especially good for detoxing the body as a whole. Detox recipe #2 is a much more simplified version of them all, but is an excellent way to take your ACV on the go or when you don’t have all the ingredients on hand.

In terms of the last recipe, I wanted to add something that didn’t contain any apple cider vinegar and I found this to be a very easy, yet effective and great tasting recipe. You could even slice up any fruits you have lying around the house, place them in water, and drink it the next day.

But, I’ve found the more ingredients you add, the more tasteful it tends to become. Incorporating these drinks into your daily diet is probably one of the easiest ways to detox your body out there, but more importantly, provides an astounding number of health benefits that would extend far beyond the realm of this post.
