The Bayou Fitness Total Trainer Power Pro Home Gym is a force to be reckoned with, standing out as one of the best equipment to work out using only your bodyweight.

As stated by the Huffington Post, bodyweight exercises can return normal movement patterns to your body and that they are in-fact, the only thing you need to build a strong foundation.

But, what about progressive overload you ask? That’s a great point and is where the power of the Bayou Fitness Total Trainer comes in allowing you to increase resistance with incline.

When it comes to the actual machinery, Bayou Fitness actually has three main models to take note of. In this review, our primary focus will be on the Power Pro, while comparing its primary features with the others.

  • If you didn’t know, progressive overload is one of the most effective methods for gaining muscle mass naturally and is done by a gradual increase in how much you lift, which in this case is accomplished by a gradual increase in both resistance & bodyweight reps.

Bayou Fitness Total Trainer Models:

  1. Bayou Fitness Total Trainer 4000-XL Home Gym
  2. Bayou Fitness Total Trainer DLX-III Home Gym
  3. Bayou Fitness Total Trainer Power Pro

The best model out of these three is the Power Pro. It not only offers a sleeker and sturdier design, but is capable of holding more weight. The Power Pro’s user capacity hovers around 500-pounds, while the DLX-III holds up to 400 pounds.

More importantly, the Power Pro offers a higher level of resistance and can be adjusted higher than the DLX-III. While the DLX-III gives you up to a 69% level in body-weight resistance, the Power Pro bumps this up to 72%. The machine itself is also a bit larger, adding a few inches to both its width and height.

While the Power Pro model has some great features going for it, all three models serve the same beneficial purpose of allowing you to improve strength and flexibility all from one piece of home gym equipment. The Power Pro home gym gives you 12-levels of resistance, whereas the DLX-III and 4000-XL gives you 11-levels.

While that might not seem like much of a difference, the difference here really all lies in the quality of the machines and the type of materials used to construct them. The 4000-XL for example, does not give you the chrome-plated rails/attachments as seen in the DLX-III and Power Pro. It also lacks the upgraded squat board and use of ball-bearing rollers.

Now the best thing about the Bayou Fitness Total Trainer Power Pro is it gives you absolutely everything you need to achieve a full-body workout in one go.

Power Pro’s Attachments and Accessories:

  • Bayou Fitness Power Pro AccessoriesBicep power flex.
  • Bicep curl press bar.
  • Pro AB Strap.
  • Chrome pull-up bar and push-up bars.
  • Deluxe chrome handles.
  • Added power bar for adding optional free weights.
  • Foot tray for sit-up support.
  • XL-Heavy duty squat board.
  • Two leg cuffs.

The Total Trainer Power Pro definitely comes with an abundance of accessories and attachments that can be used with the machines and you’ll love the addition of having a bicep curl bar right then and there. What you’ll find absent from the 4000-XL model is no added power bar for adding free weights and no bicep power flex.

In regards to the attachments and accessories with the home gyms, everything else is the same. The main differences however, are much more apparent in terms of the standout features offered by the Power Pro.

Comparing The Three Bayou Fitness Models (Power Pro, 4000 XL, & DLX-III)

It’s the features and the true quality and design of the Power Pro that makes it a home gym machine more superior than its counterparts. The Power Pro’s use of a quick release four-pulley system makes it extremely easy to get off the machine. This is a feature that is not included in the 4000-XL.

It’s use of an aluminum monorail design is also absent, as well as its use of roller bearing rollers for smoother gliding. Instead, the 4000-XL makes use of Super Tuff rollers, which is cheaper in design. While both models make use of a pulley glide board, the Power Pro uses a dual slide system that is not apparent in the 4000-XL.

The DLX-III on the other hand, comes much closer in comparison to the Power Pro with its inclusion of a Bicep Power Flex, ball bearing rollers, and dual slide glide board pulleys. It also includes the added power bar for free weights as well. The biggest distinguished feature between the DLX-III and the Power Pro must then come down to its measurements and total increase in bodyweight resistance & incline of the glide board itself.

Total Trainer Power Pro Overview – Perfect For Bodyweight Exercises!

So if you’re looking for the biggest, baddest, all in one home gym equipment, go with the Power Pro. This is a piece of machinery for those who love working out with their bodyweight and really improving upon how much of their own bodyweight they can lift day after day.

This, as well as the total absence of heavy weights, makes the Bayou Total Fitness models some of the most convenient and effective home gyms money can buy. The best part of all might just come down to its ability to fold and roll across the floor without any problems.

If you love doing pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, bicep curls, and a whole host of lower body exercises, I have no doubt that this the machine for you.
