Looking to add some additional gym equipment to your home? Even though a $100 budget won’t replace the bench press or treadmill seen at our local gym, it’s perfect for getting in a quick workout. In addition, some of this equipment isn’t always available at your gym, depending on where you go.
Having this kind of equipment at home will allow you to continually work your core and implement more versatility within your everyday routines. Being able to workout at your own leisure while having the proper equipment to do so is extremely convenient. These gym accessories in specific are very beneficial to have laying around at home. Of course there are more, but these 4 are my personal favorites and what I find to be the most useful. 🙂
Due to its amazing versatility and to the comprehensive exercises associated with the kettlebell, we’ve placed it as the number #1 best piece of home gym equipment to have. The kettlebell is so useful that they’ll become your next best friend, next to a dumb bell rack. It’s also the most cost affordable and can be used to replace many of the core and compound exercises done at the gym.
We’re talking squats, deadlifts, overhead rows, lunge presses, and so much more. Not to mention the many kettlebell swings used to build total and complete explosive power. If you haven’t worked out with a kettlebell, now is your time.
We chose the kettlebell by CAP barbell due to its smooth enamel coating allowing for easier handling and swinging, as well as the flat bottom allowing for easy storage while also giving us the chance to work on our kettlebell push-ups. The CAP kettlebell is undoubtedly one of the most durable and favorited kettlebells on the market and is a must-have in our gym arsenal.
#2. Resistance Band Set By Kinzi
The next piece of equipment you’d want to add to your $100 home gym is a resistance band set. We specifically recommend the one made by Kinzi because it literally comes with just about everything.
The Kinzi resistance band set comes with 5 sets of bands of resistance varying between 2 and 30 pounds as well as an ankle strap, door anchor, carrying case, and exercise chart for convenience.
These elastic resistance bands are the next best thing to free weights and kettlebells offering all the additional versatility you need to help complete your workout. They are probably the most cost-effective workout tool out of any other piece of equipment, the most portable, the most light-weight, and most comprehensive, allowing you to complete a whole body workout even when used alone.
#3. High-Density Foam Roller By Amazon Basics
Another highly essential piece of equipment is a high-density foam roller. If you don’t have one of these in your home, you need to get one now and you’ll see exactly what we’re talking about. The one by Amazon Basics is a great option if you happen to be on a budget.
Foam rollers are by far and large, the best way to loosen up your body and give you that full body massage without having to pay a professional. It keeps your body nimble and mobile, perfects your posture, releases trigger points, frees up movement, restores healthy muscle & tissue, makes you flexible, and honestly, just feels GREAT. Do your body a huge favor, and get one of these today.
Due to budget constraints, we recommended the one by AmazonBasics which offers a great foam roller for cheap. This one will work great too, but if you have extra money to spare we recommend going with the GRID foam roller by Trigger Point, which also includes free instructional online videos and an amazingly designed foam roller that will last you for life.
#4. Stability Ball With Pump By Black Mountain
The stability ball will make for a great addition to our home gym and is by far one of the most versatile pieces of equipment we could have, next to the kettlebell. They are efficient, effective, and extremely affordable.
More importantly, stability balls have been attributed to a large range of benefits and have even been used by schools in Europe as chairs for their students resulting in – better posture, focus, concentration, attitude, and improved sense of learning!
It makes sense, since their actually sitting upright. Not only will a stability ball help us with all those awesome core exercises we love to do (right?) :), but will also help to restore our body’s natural balance, perfect our posture & physique, work our core strength, and challenge those obliques, abs, and back muscles we’ve all been dying to work out.
This hasn’t been understood just through mere observation, but actual scientific theory, finding that the stability ball uses the neuromuscular system in ways that other pieces of equipment are unable to do. It’s no wonder the stability ball came in a close second to being added to our list having one of the best reputations of any piece of gym equipment. The best stability ball by far is the 2,000-pound static strength exercise stability ball with an included pump by Black Mountain. Believe it or not, but most stability balls don’t include a pump so that is a huge plus to have!
Home Gym For Under $100 Summary:
- Kettlebell By CAP Barbell
- Resistant Band Set By Kinzi
- High-Density Foam Roller By AmazonBasics
- Black Mountain Stability Ball
Thanks for sticking with me until the end guys. I hope this was a good read and hopefully you’ve considered adding some of this equipment to your own home. This is a great way to get yourself working out more often and use the types of equipment not usually offered at your gym. The other reason I like having accessories lying around the house is because we don’t always have time to hit the gym. This makes it so much easier to get in a quick workout without having to worry about traveling to the gym on a tight schedule.
