Rowing machines are an excellent tool for building up both muscle and stamina, while working on cardio. They are truly one of the most ideal pieces of home gym equipment to have. It’s true that the more we spend on our rowing machine, the more value we’re going to receive.

In today’s post, we’ll look at one of Stamina’s highest end rowing machine models, better known as the Stamina Avari Programmable Exercise Rower. With nearly 12 workout programs to choose from, a fancy LCD display, and the use of Quiet Magnetic Resistance, the Stamina Avari should be seen as a top contender.

Specs Of The Stamina Avari Rower

Stamina Avari FoldedWhen unfolded, the Stamina Avari’s dimensions are 81″ L x 20″ W x 24.5″ H, which is only a few inches larger than the lower end Stamina models. When folded the Stamina Avari measures in at 36″ L x 20″ W x 53.5″ H.

There is also a 13″ gap of spacing between the seat when it’s at its highest point and the floor. Another spec to be aware of is the Stamina Avari’s ability of holding up to 275 pounds at a time as opposed to the 250 user capacity seen in its lower end models.

The downside is that the weight limit capacity of the Avari is roughly half of higher end models like the Concept 2 Model D, which carries up to 500-pounds in user weight. One great advantage the Avari has going for it in regards to specs is that individuals in the 6’0″ to 6’5″ range have no problem in using the rower, meaning that it has a nice long beam for fuller leg extension. Regardless of height, the Avari should be a great fit.

Its use of an aluminum rowing beam also allows for greater support and a well-developed build to its frame. The actual weight of the product is 88-pounds, which is roughly average to most rowers on the market today.

Features & Quality Of The Stamina Avari Rower

#1. Workout Programs:

The Stamina Avari Magnetic Rower and its LCD backlit monitor contains 6 pre-implemented cardio programs, 4 customizable user workout programs, 1 manual option, and 1 heart rate program for a total of 12 workout programs. The Stamina Avari thus, has a solid number of workout options to choose from and its inclusion of a chest strap to measure and monitor heart rate is a great addition.

#2. LCD Backlit Monitor:

Stamina Avari Monitor An important note to the LCD screen is that it doesn’t contain any games as seen in the Concept 2 Model D, but is still highly advanced in regards to its functionality with the ability to track:

  • Time
  • Calories
  • Distance
  • Strokes Per Minute
  • Pulse
  • Watt

It uses a Touch Fitness Monitor technology that also allows you to automatically adjust your workout time and rowing resistance, while the pulse feature is capable of measuring your return to resting heart rate, which is great.

#3. Quality & Build:

One of the most notable features in terms of build is definitely the Avari’s extruded aluminum beam, allowing your rows to be as smooth and quiet as possible.

It uses magnetic resistance, which is especially great for those looking for a quieter rowing experience. Similar to the rest of the Avari models, it’s made of a durable steel frame, makes use of two pivoting foot plates, and has an aluminum rowing beam.

#4. Storage:

What’s even more notable about the Avari is the fact you can fold the frame in two for quick and easy storage. The foldable frame is not an available feature in its entry-level models like as the Body Trac Glider or Stamina 1215 Orbital Rower and really helps to set the Avari apart.

For those looking for a very quiet and silent machine, the Stamina Avari Rowing Machine is a rower you’ll be pleased with. This is due to its use of magnetic resistance technology and extruded aluminum beam. If you’re looking for a rower that can provide more strength or “umph” to your row, then you’ll most-likely prefer one that uses air resistance technology like the ATS Air Rower or Concept 2 Model D.

What We Like About The Stamina Avari:

  • Great variety of features like the Pulse that can accurately measure how fast you return to your resting heart rate.
  • Ability to create your own workouts and the included preset programs featuring various changes in resistance through out your workout.
  • The overall specs of the rower and its ability to comfortably fit people of all height ranges.
  • Its ability to easily be folded in half, stored, and rolled on its wheels.
  • Use of Magnetic Rowing Resistance for those looking for a quiet and smoother rowing experience.
  • The advanced LCD Backlit Monitor capable of measuring all kinds of statistics and even the total number of miles you’ve rowed.
  • The amazing overall quality and build of the rower, with the exception of a seat that might feel a bit too sturdy to some.

What We Didn’t Like:

  • Its lower 250-pound user capacity might not make this an ideal rower to some individuals.
  • The seat isn’t as comfortable as in other rowers due to the way it was molded, but is easily rectified by using a towel or cushion underneath you.
  • Could have a longer warranty – Comes with a 90-day warranty on parts and 3 year warranty on the frame.

Stamina Avari Overview

The Stamina Avari Programmable Magnetic Rower is one of the quietest rowers you can buy that is still very effective and provides more than plenty enough resistance. Its use of an advanced LCD screen, a durable steel frame and build, and extruded aluminum beam makes it one of the most reliable rowers in this price range.

One possible complaint with the Avari is that might not give out enough resistance due to it being magnetic, but we found it to be more than competent enough to provide you with a good amount of force.

While we felt that the 3-year warranty on the frame and 90-day warranty parts could have been extended a bit, we do like the fact that individuals rarely experienced problems with the Stamina Avari. We further feel that the Stamina Avari is a solid 9 out of 10 due to the very comfortable feel it provides. With the exception of a seat that feels a little to sturdy to some, you will love the way this machine rows and the ease of use when it comes to the monitor and display.
